Stronger Together – Mary Adams Celebrates 10 Years as President and CEO of United Way Monterey County

Past and present United Way Monterey County Board members joined staff and volunteers to congratulate Mary Adams on 10 years as President and CEO.  The reception, held Thursday, Dec. 15 at the CSU Monterey Bay Alumni and Visitor’s Center, was a surprise to Mary.  The gathering provided a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the accomplishments of the past decade.

Under Mary’s leadership, UWMC added three new Certified Partner Agencies, incorporated The Volunteer Center into UWMC, started new programs such as 2-1-1, Earn It! Keep It! Save It! and the FamilyWize Prescription Drug Discount, opened an office in Salinas, moved and upgraded the office in Monterey and raised more than $35 million for the community!

These successes could not have been done without the continuing support of a very generous and supportive community. They truly exemplify the United Way call to action, Live United – Give, Advocate and Volunteer.
