United Way Monterey County hosted its Annual Breakfast Wednesday, September 27 at the University Center Ballroom on the CSUMB Campus.
The breakfast featured the debut of the new United Way video “United We Fight” and awards to Community Partners who are key to our work to help families achieve financial stability.
Graniterock received a Community Building Block Award for its long history of support for Monterey County. Graniterock volunteers build up our community and the company encourages philanthropy through an active workplace campaign.
Enza Zaden received the Newcomer Community Building Block Award. Enza Zaden was recognized for its hands-on contributions as volunteers to help beautify a preschool, sponsors for Stuff the Bus and board leadership.
Central Coast Federal Credit Union received the Community Building Block Award for its decades-long responsiveness to the needs of Monterey County and how its staff bring their motto “Community Minded” to life. Throughout the year, they provide volunteers, financial support and help a multitude of organizations make valuable connections to further their mission.
Wells Fargo Bank, the presenting sponsor, was recognized for their dynamic leadership and generous support. They are also partnering with United Way to build a volunteer program to increase employee engagement and provide leadership opportunities for their employees and families.
United Way focuses on increasing the supply of affordable, quality child care and housing so that families can take care of themselves and have opportunity for more prosperity. UWMC also supports policies that enable low-income families to secure family-sustaining employment, develop job skills, grow savings and build assets.
