Board Member

John C. Turner is the General Manager, InterContinental The Clement Monterey. Originally from Syracuse, New York, John attended the University of Colorado, where he majored in Economics. John has lived and worked in 9 different communities across the US during his hospitality career, including states on the East coast and West coast, as well as Hawaii and Alaska. 

In 2008, he returned to Monterey, California to open InterContinental The Clement Monterey, becoming General Manager of the long-awaited project on historic Cannery Row. He is extremely involved in various local industry associations, in many different leadership capacities including: Chairman for the Monterey County Hospitality Association (MCHA), the Monterey Country Convention & Visitors Bureau (MCCVB,) TID (Tourism Improvement District) Committee for Monterey, and Monterey Conference Center Advisory Board Chairman. He has been active for a number of years with California State University Monterey Bay (CSUMB) and its Hospitality Department. 

John lives in Carmel with his wife Kirsten and daughter, Campbell. He enjoys collecting John Steinbeck first editions as well as playing tennis and traveling with his family.
